Midjourney is a unique experiment. It's never happened before, and maybe there won't be a chance to do it again. We're creating a community-backed research group focused on bold bets around the future of the human experience.
Some see us as an AI lab, but we actually look at things quite differently. We're not building artificial intelligences to replace people. Instead, we're creating tools that make people dream bigger and become more capable than they knew possible.
Most people in tech feel like there's no past, and most people in the world feel like there's no future. We see a rich and beautiful past behind us, and a vast and unimaginable future ahead.

How do we work?
Midjourney operates non-traditionally. Our features are suggested and prioritized by our community, projects are led by engineers and the founder, and the team is strikingly small compared to the size of our community and ambitions. We intentionally keep it this way in order to iterate as fast as possible.
We have offices in San Francisco, London, and New York, but the company was founded remotely. Much of our communication is on Discord, and our employees are distributed around the world.
We're best-known for the aesthetic technologies that power image and video generation. This work spans three core domains:
Research: Diffusion models, reinforcement learning, training optimization, data processing → listings
Infrastructure: Data center and cluster management, inference optimization, large scale cloud systems → listings
Frontend: Web and mobile product design and engineering, new feature prototyping and development, some internal tools → listings
We also have teams working on projects separate from image generation. Most of this work is secret for now, but jobs may be posted for positions that do not match our currently-released products.
What do we look for at Midjourney?
The best people are self-directed, communicative, and highly proactive. We look at your projects or portfolio much more than at your resume and job history and oftentimes we've seen and admired your work already. Great people at Midjourney have started in high school just as often as they have come from notable companies and universities.

We always have room to hire excellent engineers and researchers. We're most actively in search of those who can contribute to research and data engineering.

AI Researcher
Work on our next-generation image, video, and world models. You'll be training huge models, inventing new techniques, and working on a small team with massive impact.
💻 Frontend
Product Engineer (Web)
Own the Midjourney web experience. You'll build the interfaces that millions of people use to create, explore, and organize their ideas.
Product Designer
Design the future of creative tools. You'll work on everything from our core web and mobile interfaces to secret hardware projects.
Data Engineer
Consolidate data across our systems, build interactive dashboards that track what matters, and serve as technical owner of our financial planning platform. You'll transform business questions into automated insights and data-driven recommendations that guide our growth.
⚡ Infrastructure
GPU / Infrastructure Engineer
Build and maintain our supercomputers. You'll work on everything from GPU cluster orchestration and low-level kernel optimizations to building out our next data center.
ML Data Engineer
Build the pipelines that feed our models. We have one of the most interesting datasets in the world. You'll help us collect it, clean it, and understand it.
Billing Infrastructure Engineer
Own our billing and payments infrastructure. Build experimentation frameworks, optimize our payments integration, and create the data pipelines that power our financial decisions.
